Bloggers' Food Tasting Event @Ah Loy Thai Restaurant

100 Beach Road
#01-39/40 Shaw Tower Singapore
Tel: +65 9165 1543

I was invited for a food tasting session at Ah Loy Thai Restaurant yesterday! ;D

That wasn't my first time there!
I really love their green curry!
Whenever I had craving for thai food, you'll see me there! ;B

& for those of you who didn't know, they renovated the place.
Previously, their dine-in area was just here.
& you'll see a long queue outside their restaurant in the evenings.

But now, the good news is lesser waiting time! Yeahs!
cos they extended the shop!
More cosy also! ;-)

Ytd's food tasting allowed me to discover so many more delicious dishes!
Now i'm so spoilt for choices the next time i head back there!

#1 Thai Lemongrass Drink (Home Made) -$2.30
This is one of their special beverages.
It'a rather unique & comes with a slight minty taste that taste like some some barley candy.
If you wanna try something new, this is it.

#2 Papaya Salad -$5.30
If you're in for something really appetising before your meal,
you can try their papaya salad.
It's really sour and thereafter you will feel the spiciness of it that lingers on your tongue.
Together with the sweet tomatoes, you just can't stop eating it.

You can also try their Mango Salad if you're not a fan of papaya ;B

#3 Fried Butter Calamari -$7.50
Thumbs up for this! (Y)
Just the thought if the fragrance of the butter is tempting me to go back for it again.
It tastes rather similar to the cereal prawn.

#4 Thai Pandan Chicken -$9.00
Wrapped in the pandan leaves,
this chicken is not only fragrant but so tender even w/o any sauce.

#5 Thai Style Fish Clear Soup (Non Spicy)

#6 Tom Yum Seafood Soup -$6.90
Love this soup!
It's more spicy than sour ;-)
Look at the generous amount of ingredients inside!

#6 Thai Green Curry -$6.50
This is the green curry that i really love.
A must-must for me to order whenever i go to Ah Loy Restaurant.
It's super nice especially when you eat it with white rice.
You'll see me drinking up the whole bowl of green curry like some herbal soup!
Nom Nom~ ^^

#7 Tom Yum Fried Rice (3-6pm) -$6.90
#8 Pineapple Fried Rice -$5.90
Try their fried rice if you don't want white rice.
Be it their Tom Yum/Pineapple Fried Rice, you can see their each rice grain is golden.
Wow! & if you love spicy food, you've got to try the Tom Yum Fried Rice.
& take note, it's only available from 3-6pm!

#9 Thai Fried Keotow (Phad Thai) -$5.90
Another alternative is you don't wan any rice.
The thai version of our Char Kway Teow.

#10 Stir fried Red Basil Leaf w Pork
#11 Stir Fried Red Basil Leaf w Chicken

Both the Stir Fried Basil Leaf w Pork/Chicken is spicy.
According to the shopowner, the Stir Fried Leaf w Pork is more popular.
Taste like spicy minced meat to me!

However i personally prefer the chicken one ((;

#12 Thai Mango Crispy Chicken -$7.50
As the name suggests,
the chicken is really crispy despite having the sauce on it ;-)
YUMMMM.

#13 Thai Garlic Pork (Ge Tiam Mu) -$6.90

#14 Fried Kangkong -$4.50
#15 Fried Sweet Potato Leaf (Spicy/Non Spicy) -$4.50
I'm a carnivore, lol.
I rarely eat vegetables so you've got to try it yourself.
The Fried Kangkong taste rather nice to me though! ;D
& You can choose to have your Fried Sweet Potato Leaf spicy or non-spicy ;-)

#16 Thai Lemon Fish -$12.80
#17 Thai Lemon Grass Steam Fish -$13.50

#18 Thai Crispy Spicy Sauce Fish -$12.00
The sweet & spicy sauce is a perfect combination w the crispy fish!
omggggg HEAVEN!

#19 *NEW* Thai Black Pepper Crispy Fish -$14.50
This Black Pepper fish is spicy and sauce is not only on the outside.
You'll be able to taste the strong Black Pepper taste even in its flesh (Y)

After having appetisers and so main dishes,
how can you not end your meal with desserts?? ;D

Try their thai desserts!
